She's just released "Beauty Rules" ($24.95, Chronicle Books), full of beauty advice, real-life makeovers and step-by-step instructions, all focused on helping teens look their best.

Drawing on his 15 seasons judging "America's Next Top Model," Nigel Barker has written "Nigel Barker's Beauty Equation" (Abrams, $19.95). It's less about practical tips, more on how to achieve that elusive inner beauty, with chapters on things like allure, confidence, charm and humor.

How Tom Lyle Williams, a country boy from Kentucky, came to create one of the world's biggest beauty brands is told in "The Maybelline Story" (Betty Young Books, $16.95). It's a fascinating tale of persistence and pluck - and it all started with one product, cake mascara.
