You’ve seen the show on Broadway. You’ve listened to the cast album. What’s left for a “Hamilton” fan to do?
Next month, you’ll be able to read the original libretto, annotated by creator and star Lin-Manuel Miranda, along with a narrative of the musical’s creation, when “Hamilton: The Revolution,” co-authored with Jeremy McCarter, is published by Hachette Book Group on April 12.
And Entertainment Weekly reported Thursday that the audiobook edition will be read by a surprise narrator: “Law & Order: SVU” star Mariska Hargitay, who counts herself a “Hamilton” superfan.
The book, which Miranda has dubbed the “#Hamiltome” on Twitter, will also include production notebooks and emails, photographs by Frank Ockenfels and Joan Marcus, and interviews with Questlove, Stephen Sondheim and others. At a list price of $40 in hardcover ($35 for the audio CD), it’s cheaper — and easier to come by — than tickets to the show.
