On Saturday, Theodore's Books in Oyster Bay will host a special event featuring Christopher Finan, executive director of the National Coalition Against Censorship, who will talk about his new book "How Free Speech Saved Democracy."

Finan will be interviewed by Oren Teicher, CEO of the American Booksellers Association about the book, which deals with the First Amendment. After their conversation, Finan will sign copies.

The discussion will begin at 2 p.m. at Raynham Hall Museum at 30 W. Main St. in Oyster Bay. It will be preceded by a wine reception at the store at 17 Audrey Ave. To register for the free event, go to theodoresbooks.com.

Since opening its doors in December, Theodore's Books, owned by former Long Island congressman Steve Israel, has played host to many author events. Writers scheduled to appear in May include bestselling author Delia Ephron on May 4 and "Little House on the Prairie" actress Melissa Gilbert on May 14.
