Tom Hanks signs book deal on typewriter stories
Talk about typecasting: Tom Hanks has a book deal for a collection of stories inspired in part by his personal collection of typewriters, The Associated Press reports. Publisher Alfred A. Knopf announced Monday that it has an agreement with the Oscar-winning actor. The book is currently untitled and no publication date has been set. Financial terms were not disclosed. In a statement released by Knopf, the 58-year-old Hanks said he had been collecting typewriters since 1978 and that his upcoming collection would feature stories "that might have been written on one of them."
