Britney's LI show is some kind of success

Britney Spears' live show is hard to describe.
Extravaganza? Sure -- the 13 dancers and their complicated choreography make sure of that.
Spectacle? Of course.
Anything Spears-related becomes a must-see, whether she's hovering suspended over her gyrating dancers dressed as shirtless cops in "Piece of Me" or teasing a guy from the audience dressed in an Islanders jersey with a pole dance during "Lace and Leather."
But is it a concert if she doesn't sing much? After all, her fans know she doesn't, and judging from all the screaming Tuesday night at Nassau Coliseum, it hardly seems to matter to them.
To her credit, Spears has certainly stepped up her involvement in her career in recent years.
With her latest album, "Femme Fatale," she continues down the comeback trail, shimmying to sleek Euro-influenced dance pop like the simple, charming "How I Roll" all the way.
Compared to her last tour, Spears was exponentially livelier, even throwing in some "What's up, Long Island?" into the show.
She actually sang most of the ballad "Don't Let Me Be the Last to Know," which was probably a mistake as her weak voice drifted off-key.
She was far better off giving "Baby One More Time" a space-funk feel and turning "If You Seek Amy" into jazz.
And when she kicks into the pleasing pop of "I Wanna Go" and dance classics like "Toxic," all her shortcomings fall away, leaving something successful -- whatever you want to call it.
