ABC pulls 'View' ad from Perez website over Miley photo
Mario Lavandeira aka gossip blogger Perez Hilton isn't enjoying "The View" from his site - The Walt Disney Company has pulled its ad for that ABC chat show from PerezHilton.com following controversy involving a questionable photo of 17-year-old singer-actress Miley Cyrus.
On the brighter side for him, Cyrus and her parents aren't filing charges against him for the possible child pornography, with Miley telling Ryan Seacrest on his KIIS FM radio show, "That's some idiot being an idiot." And the FBI told E! News that there is no active investigation into the incident, in which Lavandeira posted a photo on his Twitter account of Cyrus exiting a convertible wearing a dress and apparently nothing under it.
It's unclear if the move by Disney - home of Cyrus' tween megahit "Hannah Montana" - will be long-term or was made specifically because of Cyrus' scheduled appearance on "The View" Friday.
TV Land, owned by Viacom's MTV Networks, told E! on Wednesday that its advertising relationship with Hilton remained "unchanged," but did remove its spot for its new sitcom "Hot in Cleveland." An ad for Showtime's reality series "The Real L Word" appeared on the site Thursday afternoon.
Thursday morning, Hilton tweeted, "I'm setting the record straight about all this Miley Cyrus drama tonight on Joy Behar's CNN show." Ironically, Hilton has been on "The View" himself three times, most recently in December.
