“Grown Ups” star Adam Sandler will take to the Big Apple on Sept. 15 for his “You’re My Best Friend” comedy tour, which was announced Thursday.
The critically acclaimed actor and comedian is making a stop at Madison Square Garden in Manhattan following sold-out tours in 2023 and 2024. The new trek will launch Sept. 5 at VyStar Memorial Arena in Jacksonville, Florida, and conclude Nov. 1 at Fontainebleau Las Vegas.
Sandler, who will star in the highly anticipated “Happy Gilmore” sequel coming out July 25 on Netflix, has frequently appeared in the city and on Long Island — both for comedy performances and more prosaic outings.
In 2022, Sandler headlined UBS Arena in Elmont during his 15-stop stand-up tour of the East Coast. His performance was a mix of comedy and original songs from Netflix's “100% Fresh” (2018), his first comedy special in 20 years.
And in 2021, the six-time MTV Movie & TV Award winner attracted attention on the Island not because he was on the set of a high-profile movie or at a stadium for a sold-out tour. Instead, he was simply trying to get a meal with his family at a Manhasset IHOP restaurant, but left after being told by an employee that the wait was 30 minutes.
A TikTok video of the incident went viral.
Ticket presales begin Thursday. General-public tickets go on sale at noon Friday.
