Following hip-replacement surgery in 2018, actor Alec Baldwin has undergone it again.

“Alec got a new hip today … it was a long time necessary,” his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, 39, posted on Instagram Tuesday, with a close-up photo of herself and a drowsy-looking Alec Baldwin, 65, in bed wearing a hospital gown. Then, appearing to address her husband, she wrote, “We have been through so much together … as your partner and as you heal, I want so very much for you to leave this very intense chronic pain chapter behind and improve your quality of life." She went on to thank the doctors, "nurses, pt [physical therapist], ot [occupational therapist], staff and the other amazing people who so generously are bringing him safely through this.”

Three-time Emmy Award winner Alec Baldwin, who was born in Amityville and raised in Massapequa, commented to her, “And you. Thanks to you …” It was unclear if this was surgery on a different hip or further surgery on the existing artificial hip. On Feb. 6, 2018, Hilaria Baldwin had announced on Instagram that “tomorrow morning we are in the hospital bright and early for his hip to be replaced.”
