Anderson Cooper bout of appendicitis forces 'sudden surgery,' absence from CNN show
CNNanchor Anderson Cooper was expected back at his nightly news show "Anderson Cooper 360" last night after missing the previous day due to an emergency appendectomy, Newsday contributor Frank Lovece reports. "I'll be back on air tomorrow," Cooper, 47, tweeted a day after the Sunday surgery. "Had an appendicitis and had to have sudden surgery last night." John Berman filled in. "I am very thankful for the efforts of my doctor and the doctors and nurses at NewYork-Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center," Cooper added in a statement Tuesday.
