Zahara Jolie-Pitt, the 17-year-old adopted daughter of Oscar winners Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, will attend a historically Black college this fall.

"Zahara with her Spelman sisters!" wrote Jolie, 47, Sunday on Instagram, posting a photo from a Los Angeles send-off event the day before, held annually by the alumni associations of the Atlanta HBCU Spelman College, a women's school, and Morehouse College, a men's school. Jolie-Pitt, wearing jeans and a white T-shirt, poses with other evident incoming first-year students.

"Congratulations to all new students starting this year," Jolie continued. "A very special place and an honor to have a family member as a new Spelman girl.”

An Instagram fan page devoted to Jolie and Pitt also ran that photo from the Spelhouse Back 2 School Send Off & Family Reunion, as well as two additional shots from the event: one of Jolie, her daughter and two others; and a group photo of the students, with Jolie-Pitt in the front row. A separate post shows Jolie posing with five others at the event, including Brandon Rainey, interim board president of the co-sponsoring Greater Los Angeles Morehouse Alumni Association. It was unclear where the photos originated.

Rainey additionally tweeted a half-minute video from the event, showing a delighted and laughing Jolie in a group of what appear to be students and fellow parents all dancing the electric slide. Near the end, she gives her happy daughter a hug.

"You know the Family Reunion is lit when #SpelhouseLA is showing [Angelina Jolie] some moves on the dance floor," Rainey wrote of the fundraiser, held at the Los Angeles venue NoHo Space.

Jolie's ex-husband Pitt, 58, whose film "Bullet Train" opens Friday, briefly touched on the college news with a People magazine correspondent at his movie's Los Angeles premiere Monday.

"And how proud are you of Zahara announcing her college choice today, at Spelman?" the off-screen correspondent asks in a video on the magazine's Instagram account.

"Yeah, that's beautiful," Pitt replies. "It's really beautiful."

In addition to Zahara, who was adopted as an orphaned Ethiopian infant in 2005, Jolie and Pitt are the parents of Maddox, who turns 21 on Friday, Pax, 18, Shiloh, 16, and twins Vivienne and Knox, 14.
