Beyoncé drops remake of 'A Star Is Born'
Beyoncé has dropped out of Clint Eastwood's remake of "A Star Is Born," the Grammy-winning singer said in a statement to E! News Wednesday. "For months we tried to coordinate our schedules to bring this remake to life but it was just not possible. Hopefully in the future we will get a chance to work together." The much-filmed movie starred Janet Gaynor and Fredric March in William Wellman's 1937 original, with Judy Garland and James Mason earning Oscar nominations in George Cukor's 1954 musical version. Barbra Streisand and Kris Kristofferson starred in the 1976 musical remake.
