Well, maybe not: Fashion designer Tina Knowles, mother of pop superstar Beyoncé, is refuting a widely disseminated Us magazine report Wednesday that her daughter is pregnant.
In a clip on the website for "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" - which aired Thursday - Tina Knowles tells DeGeneres, "No, no. It's not true. Not right now."
Moments earlier Knowles had joked, "I'm here to clear the rumors up. The truth is that it's not Beyoncé that's pregnant. It's me," she said, quickly adding, "I'm kidding y'all. I'm 56."
Unnamed sources had told Us that Beyoncé, 29, was in her first trimester and was "shocked" at the news. One went on to say, "She loves kids, but she wasn't ready to be a mother just yet." A spokeswoman for Us told Newsday that the magazine stands by its reporting.
The singer, who has been married to rapper and music-industry mogul Jay-Z, 40, since 2008, has been the subject of pregnancy gossip before. "With all the rumors," her mother told DeGeneres, "by now I should have about five or six grandchildren!"
