'Book of Mormon' offers free show
The guys who made "The Book of Mormon" may talk tough, but they're good boys at heart. Trey Parker and Matt Stone ("South Park") and Robert Lopez ("Avenue Q"), along with their collaborators, producers and cast, are offering fans an unprecedented free performance of their sold-out smash, which just topped the competition with 14 Tony nominations.
Tickets for the extra show on Friday, July 1, at 2 p.m., will be chosen by lottery from the hopefuls who have joined the daily lotteries at the theater. Winners will be announced on or around June 13. Check bookofmormon broadway.com for details.
"For any fans who have been turned away . . . we wanted to offer this free performance to give everyone a chance to see the show and to say thank you for your support," Parker said.
