Bravo might postpone 'Housewives' episode
The second-season premiere of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills," currently scheduled for Sept. 5, is now in doubt following the suicide of Russell Armstrong, the estranged husband of cast member Taylor Armstrong.
Entertainment Weekly's website reports that Bravo is considering a postponement in light of the death of Russell Armstrong, who had a large role in season one. The website said Bravo had not made its decision nor indicated when it would decide.
Us Weekly reported that Bravo is planning to review and likely will re-edit the footage in an effort to be as sensitive as possible.
Bravo executive Andy Cohen wrote on his blog Wednesday: "We're all still trying to process yesterday's very sad news, and looking at how to proceed with the series, which has finished primary production and was set to premiere on Labor Day. We'll let you know what we decide when we do. In the meantime, we're sending our thoughts and prayers to Taylor and the rest of Russell's family."
During season one, Taylor Armstrong often discussed the couple's relationship on the show.
Bravo provided an advance copy of the season premiere episode to The Associated Press last week that showed Taylor Armstrong telling the other housewives that she and her husband are going to therapy. Later, she burst into tears at a dinner party when one of the other women's husbands tells her that therapy is a sign of weakness. She is also shown shopping for lingerie to help spice up her marriage.
