Spears in court for conservatorship hearing

Britney Spears, who has been under a conservatorship since 2008, attended a court hearing Thursday, and from all indications the meeting went well, Newsday contributor Frank Lovece reports. The conservatorship -- controlled by her father, Jamie Spears, and attorney Andrew Wallet -- controls her finances and oversees other aspects of her life for her protection. The meeting in Judge Reva Goetz's chambers was sealed in order to allow for a confidential discussion of Spears' medical issues and financials. E! said Spears and her attorneys have been working with the conservators on a plan to end the conservatorship and eventually transfer control of her estate back to her. Spears' next hearing is next month.
