Singer Britney Spears has confirmed she has begun dating someone, whom news reports identify as reality-show producer Charlie Ebersol, 31, son of former NBC Sports chairman Dick Ebersol and actress Susan Saint James.

"Yes, there is a special someone," Spears, 32, told "Extra" special correspondent Pauly D during Britney Day in Las Vegas on Wednesday, without identifying Ebersol by name. "No, [there are] not any details," she said when mildly pressed. "It's very new."

In 2012, Ebersol and producing partner Justin Hochberg were named No. 50 on The Hollywood Reporter's "Reality TV 50 Most Powerful List" as co-founders of The Hochberg Ebersol Company, which was then preparing to launch TNT's "The Great Escape" and USA's "The Moment."

According to his company bio, the University of Notre Dame film, television and theater grad had previously worked on documentaries, including "Ithuteng: Never Stop Learning" (2006), which moved Oprah Winfrey to donate $1.14 million to the Ithuteng Trust School for at-risk children in South Africa.

His brother Teddy Ebersol, 14, was killed on Nov. 28, 2004, when a chartered Canadair CL-601 Challenger jet also carrying Charlie Ebersol and their father crashed during takeoff near Montrose, Colorado. The pilot and the flight attendant also were killed, and the co-pilot injured.

"He not only got me off of the plane," Dick Ebersol said of Charlie in 2006, "he ran back into the plane, which had 3- or 4-foot flames all around it, to look for his brother one more time. . . . "
