Broadway's 'Best Man' gets new cast members
'Best Man' gets new cast membersCybill Shepherd, John Stamos, right, Kristin Davis and Elizabeth Ashley are joining the cast of "Gore Vidal's The Best Man," The Associated Press reports. They will replace Candice Bergen, Eric McCormack, Kerry Butler and Angela Lansbury in the Tony Award-nominated play. Producers said that Shepherd, Stamos and Davis will start July 10, and Ashley will begin July 24. Original stars James Earl Jones, John Larroquette and Jefferson Mays will remain. The play, at the Gerald Schoenfeld Theatre, has been extended twice since it opened April 1. It is now scheduled to close on Sept. 9.
