CBS resurrects interview show
CBS News yesterday announced the first interviews for its 21st century version of "Person to Person," and they're big ones -- George Clooney, Warren Buffett and Jon Bon Jovi, reports Newsday's Verne Gay. Charlie Rose and Lara Logan will host. If "Person to Person" sounds familiar, well it should. Based on the live celebrity interview show hosted by Edward R. Murrow, which aired from 1953-61, it set the stage for what was to become TV's voracious fixation on stars and the lives they lead. CBS' reboot launches Wednesday at 8 p.m.
