Cecily Strong to headline 2015 White House Correspondents' dinner
Cecily Strong of "Saturday Night Live" will be the entertainer at the annual White House Correspondents' Association dinner on April 25, Newsday contributor Frank Lovece reports. "Her political humor is sly and edgy, and it comes with a Chicago accent," WHCA president Christi Parsons said in a statement, referring to Strong's childhood in Springfield and Oak Park, Illinois, and her roots at the Chicago improv theaters iO and The Second City. Strong's father, Bill Strong, formerly served as The Associated Press bureau chief in the Illinois Statehouse. Strong, 30, will be the fourth woman to entertain at the dinner.
