Celebs check out designers at Fashion Week
Jennifer Nettles of Sugarland hit her first fashion show -- Peter Som -- Friday morning, and she loved it. With her stylist Gillian Steinhardt in tow, Nettles said, "I reached out to the designers and asked them if I could come. This is so much fun."
Wearing one of Som's signature sheaths -- part tweed, part leather -- the musician said, "I think it's a little edgy with the leather, don't you?" She looked great. She said she was searching for wardrobe options all over Fashion Week.
It was evident she had found some at the Yigal Azrouel show in the afternoon. Here, Nettles wore a sea foam green leather jacket and scarf ensemble. "Yes, this is a great color."
Was the musician changing for the Rag & Bone show an hour later? "Yes," nodded Steinhardt. Nettles had to move pretty fast, and shucks, we didn't get to see her there.
Camilla Alves, resplendent in a Yigal Azrouel turquoise maxi skirt, turned up for the designer's show, happy to talk about her recent engagement to longtime beau Matthew McConaughey.
Was it a surprise? "Absolutely, I had no idea." Was she happy with the ring? "Absolutely! It is 100 percent me."
The actress/handbag designer admitted to being an ardent vintage shopper who has trouble getting rid of things in her closet. "Sometimes I look at things that are like 9 years old, and I just can't throw them out."
