Centenarian: Marie Sturm

Marie Sturm, born Sept. 13, 1911, in St. James, is the second of four children born to Theodore and Irene Overton Haussler. Marie graduated from Smithtown Branch High School in 1929 and worked as a secretary for local businesses. She married Richard Sturm, now deceased, in 1933 and had two daughters, Shirley Bishop of Florida and Judy Dudley, now deceased. She has five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. She has lived in her own home for 80 years with the assistance of a grandson and an aide. Marie enjoys going to the St. James Senior Citizens Club.
