When comedian Kevin James performs his two sold-out shows at The Paramount in Huntington on April 6 and 9, it will not only be a homecoming for the Ward Melville graduate, but also for his opening act, comedian Chris Roach of Ronkonkoma.
Roach also plays Mott, a buddy of James’ character, Kevin Gable, on the hit CBS sitcom “Kevin Can Wait.”
“The character on the show is not a far stretch from who I am, therefore it’s easy to play,” Roach told Newsday last year. “Like me, he dresses like a half-made bed.”
Roach also has appeared on other TV shows such as “Limitless,” “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” and “The Knick.” However, he’s a true stand-up at heart.
“I don’t try to write jokes — they just kind of happen,” says Roach about his act. “Comics are a unique breed. We speak a language that many can’t understand.”
