Rocker Gene Simmons and his partner of 28 years, Shannon Tweed, were married Saturday, just in time to help promote Tuesday's season premiere of A&E's "Gene Simmons Family Jewels."

Kiss bassist and frontman Simmons, 62, and 1982 Playboy Playmate of the Year Tweed, 54, wed outdoors at the Beverly Hills Hotel in Los Angeles, reported People magazine. Tweed wore an ivory Priscilla of Boston gown and carried a bouquet of ivory garden roses.

Simmons' publicist, Dawn Miller, congratulated "the new married couple" on Facebook, CBS News said. After the ceremony, Tweed posted on her Twitter page, "The Gene Simmons-Shannon Tweed wedding was a very romantic, family affair. . . . That was the best wedding I've ever been to!!" Early yesterday afternoon she tweeted, "Good Morning to you too, from Mr and Mrs Simmons!"

The 400 guests included Playboy founder Hugh Hefner, comedian Bill Maher and fellow members of Simmons' band. Paul Stanley, the only other original member of the quartet, was in the wedding party.

Also attending were the couple's two children Nick, 22, and maid of honor Sophie, 19, who sang Etta James' "At Last" for the married couple's first dance -- for which Tweed wore $2.5 million in diamonds, TMZ.com said.

The wedding will be televised on the Oct. 18 episode of the couple's reality series. Tweed had led the media to believe the long-standing relationship had ended when she told People in July that, following Simmons' proposal on the show's previous season finale, she had moved out of their Los Angeles home and there was "slim chance" for a reconciliation.

The invitations, which People's website posted early last month, requested "classy cocktail attire" even though "we know some Rockstar attire will be worn."
