Daniel Radcliffe to star as 'Brooklyn Bridge' engineer
Daniel Radcliffe will star as Washington Roebling, the inexperienced engineer who took over for his late father, Brooklyn Bridge designer John A. Roebling, in writer-director Douglas McGrath's upcoming film about the building of the landmark East River span. The Hollywood Reporter said Wednesday that "Brooklyn Bridge," from the UK's Goldcrest Films, is scheduled to begin shooting in August. "We love Doug's extraordinary script and working with Daniel is one of the rare treats in the business," producer Christine Vachon said in a statement.
