Daryl Dragon, Toni Tennille of Captain & Tennille to divorce after 39 years

Married soft-rock singers Daryl Dragon and Toni Tennille, who as Captain & Tennille recorded five gold or platinum albums during their 1970s heyday, are divorcing.
Dragon, 71, told TMZ.com Wednesday that his wife of 39 years filed for divorce in Arizona, where they live. "I don't know why she filed," he said. "I gotta figure it out for myself first." He told the website he and Tennille, 73, still live together in the same house, in Prescott, where they have since 2007.
Beginning in 1975, Captain & Tennille scored a series of top-10 hits, including the No. 1 singles "Love Will Keep Us Together" and "Do That to Me One More Time."
The duo hosted their own musical-variety show on ABC from September 1976 to March 1977, and continued on the concert circuit after releasing their final gold record in 1979. Since 1984, Tennille has had a second career as a jazz and pop-standard performer.
Dragon suffers from a neurological condition similar to Parkinson's disease, Tennille blogged in 2010.
