In our hearts, he's The Hoff, and now he appears to be The Hoff for real.
"Big news today and a massive relief for me," erstwhile "Baywatch" and "Knight Rider" star David Hasselhoff, 63, tweeted Thursday.
"I hope everyone can understand . . . it feels great!" he wrote, linking to a short video where he explains: "I've been wanting to drop the Hassel from my life for years. Now I have made it official." The actor then holds up and points to a framed document reading "Certificate of Name Change: David Hoff."
He already has changed his Twitter, Facebook and Instagram accounts to that name, though his website is still titled David Hasselhoff Official.
