Ricky Gervais wasn't the only one making remarks deemed by some to be in bad taste at Sunday's Golden Globes.

Robert De Niro made jaws drop upon accepting a lifetime achievement award from the Hollywood Foreign Press Association when he told the crowd: "I'm sorry more members of the Foreign Press aren't with us tonight, but many were deported right before the show along with most of the waiters. And Javier Bardem."

In fact, in a poll conducted by TMZ.com about who was more offensive, voters gave the nod to De Niro (59 percent) over Gervais (41 percent).

De Niro, however, was unapologetic Sunday night. According to The Hollywood Reporter, when asked backstage why he tried to be funny in his speech, he replied, "I thought this would be more fun for this kind of evening."
