Dina Lohan's attorney: 'No indication' of abuse or dependency

The attorney representing Dina Lohan on a drunken-driving charge said Wednesday that a court-ordered evaluation found his client does not suffer from dependency and her legal troubles were affected by stresses related to media attention.
"The circumstances leading to Dina's arrest were largely impacted by ongoing daily stresses caused by you folks, the paparazzi, media attention and distorted tabloid character profiles," said Mark Heller, who read from what he said was the evaluation outside of First District Court in Hempstead after a court appearance.
Heller did not provide copies of the document nor the name of the evaluator. He could not be reached at his Manhattan office. A copy of the evaluation could not be located in the file Wednesday afternoon, a court clerk said. A Nassau district attorney spokesman declined to comment.
Lohan, 51, of Merrick, pleaded not guilty last month to drunken driving. She was ordered then to surrender her driver's license and was released without bail.
Lohan, the mother of actress Lindsay Lohan, was arrested Sept. 12 by State Police on the Northern State Parkway. Police said she had a blood-alcohol level of .20 percent.
Lohan also was charged with speeding when she was stopped for driving 77 mph in a 55-mph zone on the westbound parkway near Route 135 in Oyster Bay Town, court papers said.
Lohan is due to return to court Nov. 21.
