Bret Michaels is out of the hospital and improving, but is still very ill.

During a news conference Tuesday, Michaels' doctor at the Borrow Neurological Institute at St. Joesph's Hospital in Phoenix called the rock and roller "a very lucky person," People magazine reports. Dr. Joseph Zabramski said the 47-year-old reality TV star was recently discharged, but could not release any more details, citing federal privacy laws.

Although Michaels is "still very sick right now," Zabramski added, "He's improving and I expect him to continue to improve. I really expect that he will fortunately make a 100 percent recovery. He's just one of those lucky people - 10 to 20 percent who make a complete recovery and can resume all of their normal activities."

Michaels, the lead singer of hair-metal band Poison, suffered a brain hemorrhage April 21. Doctors later found he had hyponatremia, which leads to seizures due to a lack of sodium in the body.
