Los Angeles police have arrested an apparent stalker preparing to ambush Jennifer Aniston, according to documents in a restraining order the actress filed Tuesday.

Jason Peyton, 24, was arrested after being found on July 15 "laying-in-wait in a location he believes she frequents" with "a sharp object, a bag, a roll of duct tape and written messages about her," say the documents quoted at TMZ.com, which first reported the story.

Lawyers for the 41-year-old former "Friends" star said Peyton - whose car bore the words "I LOVE YOU JENNIFER ANISTON" cut into the hood and "I LOVE JENNIFER ANISTON" carved into the driver's side exterior - spent eight days searching for her. The documents describe the man as "an obsessed, mentally ill and delusional stalker with a history of violence and criminal stalking who drove cross-country in his delusional 'mission' to locate and marry [Aniston], with whom he believes he is in a relationship."

His father had notified police of a note Peyton had left on June 25 in Pennsylvania.

Police placed Peyton on a "5150 psychiatric hold," which under California code allows people with a "mental disorder" or who are "gravely disabled" to be taken to a medical facility "for 72-hour treatment and evaluation."

The restraining order specifies Peyton must remain at least 100 yards away from Aniston's home, places of work and vehicles, and must also stay away from her employees, agents, managers and other representatives.
