Donald Trump: Bret Michaels 'in big, big trouble'
Poison singer and reality TV star Bret Michaels is in "big, big trouble and the prognosis is not great," according to Donald Trump.
Trump told TMZ Monday that he was in contact with people at Michaels' undisclosed hospital, where he is being treated for a brain hemorrhage.
Trump also told TMZ that Michaels' condition may be related to the onstage encounter with a piece of falling scenery the entertainer had during last June's Tony Awards. Initial reports said the hemorrhage may be related to Micheals' diabetes and recent appendectomy.
"Please remember Bret is, and always has been, a fighter and survivor and is under the best medical care possible," Michaels' rep Janna Elias said in a statement on the star's website. "Once again we can't thank everyone enough for all the well wishes and prayers being sent Bret's way!"
Sunday night's installment of "Celebrity Apprentice," where Michaels is a contestant handling tasks for Trump, ended with the announcement, "Everyone here at NBC wishes Bret Michaels a speedy recovery."
Michaels remains in critical condition as doctors continue to search for the cause of his hemorrhage.
Michaels, who has four multiplatinum albums with Poison and became a reality star on VH1's "Rock of Love," was hospitalized late Thursday night after complaining of intense headaches.
At the time, he was still recovering from an emergency appendectomy that forced him to reschedule concert dates on his current solo tour, which includes a scheduled stop at the Theatre at Westbury on May 13.
"He turns out to be an amazing competitor," Trump told TMZ. "And ultimately that is the thing that could save his life."
