Singer Donny Osmond has postponed several concerts, including a Sept. 10 show at The Paramount in Huntington, after learning he must undergo vocal-cord surgery.

"Doctors examining . . . [his] recent hoarseness have discovered a hemorrhagic polyp (or bleeding lesion) on his right vocal cord which will necessitate a microsurgical removal of the lesion," read a statement Wednesday on Osmond's official website. It said Harvard Medical School's Dr. Steven M. Zeitels, chief of the Center for Laryngeal Surgery & Voice Rehabilitation at Massachusetts General Hospital, who has performed the same procedure on Adele, Sam Smith and Lionel Richie, "will operate on Donny in Boston in the very near future."

The statement added that his longtime engagement at the Flamingo Las Vegas hotel-casino would resume in October as scheduled.

No tickets were available Wednesday for his Sept. 5 show in Florence, Indiana, and his Sept. 6 Cleveland show has been rescheduled to Jan. 22. Tickets remained on sale Wednesday for his two remaining shows that month, Sept. 18 in Reno and Sept. 24 in San Diego.
