Earvin Johnson: Attention 'surprising'
Earvin "E.J." Johnson III, son of basketball legend Magic Johnson, said the public disclosure he is gay earlier this month by TMZ.com "has been both exciting and interesting." In an interview Tuesday with the program "Gwissues" on the YouTube channel GwistTV, he said the wide attention was "surprising, because I didn't think it was going to be that big a deal, since I [have been] out to my family and friends for at least five years now." The New York University junior said the circumstances have gone smoothly. "I am very, very blessed to have the family I do . . . super supportive."
