ENTERTAINMENT REALITY CHECK
NOT SO 'GREAT.' "America's Next Great Restaurant" winner Jamawn White, who opened three "Soul Daddy" restaurants on May 2, the day after the season-one finale aired, has abruptly closed all three. The New York City and Los Angeles restaurants were 86'd June 14, and the one in the Mall of America, near Minneapolis, joined them last Wednesday. Parent company ANGR Holdings said in a statement the restaurants were "not performing as we had hoped."
GRANDDADDY OF REALITY SHOWS. The producers of the landmark 1973 miniseries "An American Family," shot in 1971, have cut it from 12 hours to two for a 40th-anniversary edition airing on PBS Thursday.
PREMIERES. "Teen Mom" returns for season three Tuesday (MTV, 10 p.m.), with Amber, Catelynn, Farrah and Maci . . . Jeff Lewis and his "Flipping Out" team are back with season five Wednesday (Bravo, 9 p.m.) . . . The 13th season of "Big Brother" begins Thursday (CBS, 9 p.m.) . . . Food Network's "Restaurant: Impossible" returns for season two Wednesday at 10 p.m. . . . and spinoff show "Say Yes to the Dress: Bridesmaids" premieres Friday (TLC, 10 p.m.).
RECAPS.Miranda Maleski and Robert Taylor Jr. were cut from "So You Think You Can Dance" . . . The trio Mom's Army became the second team booted from "Expedition Impossible" . . . Dawn Christ Jaener and Jared Ines couldn't cut it in Costa Rica and were the first couple cut from "Love in the Wild" . . . Chef Justin Balmes was sent home on "Food Network Star" . . . And Alvin Schultz and Max Kramer were eliminated from "MasterChef."
