Really, Dad?

Billy Ray Cyrus defended his daughter, Miley Cyrus, for giving a 44-year-old man a lap dance. The younger Cyrus was 16 at the time.

"It's what people her age do," Cyrus, 48, told TMZ.com. He says his daughter was just "having fun" when she was dancing against director Adam Shankman at a wrap party for her recent film "The Last Song."

Shankman is also a judge on Fox's "So You Think You Can Dance."

Miley Cyrus told MTV News that her dad also "loves" her controversial, Lady Gaga-influenced new music video for "Can't Be Tamed," with sexy dance moves and shirtless dancers.

After his daughter, now 17, pole danced at the Teen Choice Awards in 2009, the elder Cyrus said: "I give my kids a lot of freedom to make the art they wanna make, and make it in their own voice. I think it's important."
