As he is wont to do on Southwest Airlines flights, with the flight crew's permission, Long Island-born rapper Flavor Flav clowned around delivering peanuts and pretzels on a plane ride Saturday.

TMZ.com posted a passenger's video from a Phoenix-to-Las Vegas flight, showing Flav -- born William Drayton Jr. in Roosevelt and raised from a young age in Freeport -- playing flight attendant amid amused travelers. He also took photos with passengers requesting them, TMZ said.

YouTube videos have shown Flav playing amiably on Southwest flights for years, mostly through announcements on planes' public-address systems. Around September 2010, on a leg from Baltimore to Panama City, Florida, he asked passengers to applaud "the flight attendants that's been takin' good care of us up here in the skies" as well as "the pilots that's flying us safely." He also thanked those who have bought his records and watched his TV shows.

On a 2012 flight to that year's Super Bowl, in Indianapolis, he explained to passengers: "This is what I do with all my flights. I have a lot of fun with the airline, y'know, with the flight attendants and also the pilots on my planes, y'know what I'm saying?"

Later that year, on a flight from Burbank, California, to Las Vegas, where he lives, he promoted his Flavor Flav's House of Flavor restaurant.

Flav, who is a founding member of 2013 Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductees Public Enemy, performed with the rap group at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino's The Joint nightclub Saturday night as part of a double-billed show with English rock band The Cult.

The rapper was arrested May 21 near Las Vegas' McCarran International Airport on charges including drunken driving and marijuana possession.

Flav pleaded not guilty in Mineola on Jan. 28, 2014, to charges including unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and marijuana possession, stemming from a speeding arrest earlier that month on the Meadowbrook State Parkway. He had been driving to his mother's funeral at the time of that arrest.
