Jodie Sweetin revealed she and her late “Full House” co-star, Bob Saget, were victims of a drive-by shooting decades ago.
Sweetin reunited with former co-stars Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, John Stamos, Dave Coulier, Scott Weinger and Andrea Barber for a panel at '90s Con in Hartford, Connecticut, on Oct. 18.
Sweetin, who played Stephanie Tanner on the hit sitcom, shared the harrowing memory with Saget, who played her TV dad, Danny Tanner.
“I remember a Janet Jackson concert with Bob. We were parked outside of Edge of Epics going to that Janet Jackson concert. And I walked back out to the car and we were sitting in the car and, like, the window exploded,” she recalled, per Us Weekly. “We were like, ‘Oh!’”
“I leaned over to tie my shoes and it’s just like, ‘pop, pop, pop,’ and the whole thing shattered,” Sweetin said, further explaining that it was a “drive-by” and “was back in the late ‘80s, early ‘90s.”
She and Saget then “ran off” and “had to wait for two station wagon taxis — because this is pre-Uber — to come and get us and we were late” to the concert.
Saget later drove Sweetin home after the concert and explained what happened to her mom. “So between that and the Laugh Factory, Bob was not always my mom’s favorite,” Sweetin said, seemingly referring to Saget’s raunchy stand-up acts.
Saget passed away in Jan. 2022 at the age of 65. The cast continued to honor his legacy during the panel, with Sweetin adding, “Bob’s just glad we’re all still talking about him. Really, truly. Bob just loves to know that he’s still the main topic of conversation. He is the best in [many] ways, and yes, we love him.”
Although “Full House” is still such a big part of pop culture zeitgeist, Sweetin revealed back in May that her residual checks have since shrunk to one cent.
