Oscar-winner George Clooney and his fiancee, British human-rights and international-law attorney Amal Alamuddin, reportedly will marry Monday in Venice at Ca' Farsetti, a Renaissance-era palazzo encompassing the city's town hall.

Alamuddin, 36, flew into nearby Milan from London with her mother Thursday, People magazine reported. The U.K. newspaper The Daily Telegraph said that celebrities including Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Matt Damon, Cindy Crawford, Rande Gerber, Bono, Andrea Bocelli and Lana Del Rey are arriving and will stay at the Hotel Cipriani, on the island of Giudecca. The wedding celebration will be held at the Aman Resort, Venice's only seven-star hotel, the paper said.

The Venice City Council announced it will close streets and walkways around the Ca' Farsetti between noon and 2 p.m. Monday, explaining that a "celebrity event" there that would draw large crowds that could pose a risk to public safety. Guests will arrive in motor launches escorted by police boats, a Council official told the Telegraph.

The paper added that Alamuddin will wear an Alexander McQueen gown designed by Sarah Burton, who did the wedding dress worn by Kate Middleton at her marriage to England's Prince William in 2011. Giorgio Armani announced last week, after his Emporio Armani show at Milan Fashion Week, that Clooney, 53, "has chosen and been fitted for an Armani suit for his wedding," People said.

A city representative told the magazine that the officiant will be Clooney's friend Walter Veltroni, an Italian writer, journalist and politician who served as mayor of Rome from 2001 to 2008.

Alamuddin's law firm confirmed in late April that the couple had become engaged. E! News said the two had dated for seven months and that Clooney had proposed with a 7-carat diamond ring worth an estimated minimum of $750,000.
