Before “Glee” pays homage to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in the
episode airing after the Super Bowl, one of the show’s stars, Lea Michele, will perform at the big game itself.
Michele, who was named Billboard’s Triple Threat Star of 2010 for her
role as Rachel Berry on the Fox hit, will sing “America the Beautiful”
before the NFL Championship Game kicks off next Sunday (Feb. 6).
Michele will perform at Cowboys Stadium in Arlington, Texas, along
with Christina Aguilera, who will sing the national anthem before the
game, and the Black Eyed Peas, who are slated to perform at halftime. The singer previously joined her “Glee” co-stars to sing the national anthem at Game 3 of the World Series in October 2009.
New promotional shots of the highly anticipated post-Super Bowl “Glee”
episode were released this week, with cast members dressed up as zombie football players while performing Jackson’s hit song. Michele told
Billboard.com in December that it will be a “great, big, jam-packed episode.”
