Hilary Duff responds to criticism over marriage split

Hilary Duff Wednesday fired back at a report in Star magazine saying her recently announced marriage breakup was due to putting career ambitions over family.
"Don't believe the ---- you read!" tweeted the singer-actress, 26. "&don't buy trash magazines!They are so gross and so negative. :( they Literally make my skin crawl."
Duff and her husband, former New York Islanders center Mike Comrie, 33, announced on Friday that they were ending their three-year marriage. They have a son, Luca Cruz, born in March 2012.
While their announcement said only that they had "mutually decided to an amicable separation," Us Weekly said Wednesday that the two had gone through couples counseling for 18 months after Comrie became unambitious following his retirement from the NHL after three hip surgeries in five years.
A two-time 30-goal scorer in his 10-season career, Comrie played for the Islanders from 2007 to 2009.
