Academy Award-winner Jamie Foxx exhibited real-life heroics Monday night outside his home in Ventura County, California.
A representative for the actor, 48, confirmed to NBC News a posting on the Facebook page of Safety for Citizens, which said Foxx heard the accident and a person screaming, called 911, and pulled the driver from an overturned, burning vehicle.
NBC said the California Highway Patrol report, which did not mention Foxx by name, stated two men aided Brett Kyle, 32, who had flipped his 2007 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck.
A witness “retrieved a rescue tool from his vehicle allowing the two citizens to break the window, cut the seat belt, and extricate the driver,” the report said.
Kyle was transported to a hospital and charged with DUI.
