Jay Leno was released from a Los Angeles hospital Monday following an accident on Nov. 12 in which the comic and former "Tonight Show" host was badly burned when one of his vintage cars caught fire.. “I am pleased with Jay’s progress, and I am optimistic that he will make a full recovery,” Dr. Peter Grossman, head of the Grossman Burn Center at West Hills Hospital, said in a statement. The facility additionally noted in a news release that Leno, 72, "would like to let everyone know how thankful he is for the care he received, and is very appreciative of all of the well wishes. He is looking forward to spending Thanksgiving with his family and friends and wishes everyone a wonderful holiday.” Leno had undergone two surgeries and hyperbaric oxygen therapy. An avid car collector and the host of CNBC's "Jay Leno's Garage," he had said in a statement last Monday, “I got some serious burns from a gasoline fire. I am OK. Just need a week or two to get back on my feet.”
