Actress Jennifer Aniston and her boyfriend, actor-screenwriter Justin Theroux, are engaged.
A representative for Theroux, who wrote the screenplay for "Iron Man 2" (2010) and co-wrote the recently released movie adaptation of the Broadway musical "Rock of Ages," told People magazine Sunday, "Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage."
Theroux played a supporting role in Aniston's "Wanderlust," which was released in February. As the character Seth, he was the romantic rival to Paul Rudd's character, George, the husband of Aniston's character, Linda.
Aniston, 43, and Theroux, 41, were first seen together last May. A month later, Aniston told "Good Morning America," in a response to a question about her personal life, "Yes, I'm very happy. I'm extremely lucky, and I'm extremely happy."
The couple bought a four-bedroom, 8,500-square-foot midcentury home in Los Angeles' Bel-Air neighborhood for roughly $22 million, The Wall Street Journal reported in January. Situated on three acres, the home includes a separate guesthouse, a pool and a vineyard, the newspaper said.
Former "Friends" star Aniston's romantic travails have long been chronicled in the celebrity press. She married film star Brad Pitt in a reportedly $1 million Malibu, Calif., ceremony in 2000, which featured fireworks, 50,000 flowers, four bands and a gospel choir. The couple divorced five years later.
