Actress Jennifer Aniston and actor-screenwriter Justin Theroux reportedly are husband and wife.

People magazine said Thursday it had confirmed a report on TMZ.com that "Friends" Emmy Award-winner Aniston, 46, and "The Leftovers" star Theroux, who turns 44 on Sunday, wed Wednesday night at their mansion in Bel Air, California.

TMZ posted photos of Howard Stern, Ellen DeGeneres, Lake Bell and others arriving at what overhead photos showed as a large formal party with an array of tables outdoors. Between TMZ and E! the websites counted Lisa Kudrow, Chelsea Handler, Jason Bateman, John Krasinski, Emily Blunt, Tobey Maguire, Sandra Bullock, Jimmy Kimmel, Orlando Bloom, Rachel McAdams, Sia Furler and Samantha Ronson among the guests.

Aniston and Theroux's representatives did not return Newsday requests for comment.

The couple who starred together in the 2012 film "Wanderlust," dated for over a year before becoming engaged on Aug. 10, 2012. His representative told People at the time, "Justin Theroux had an amazing birthday on [that] Friday, receiving an extraordinary gift when his girlfriend, Jennifer Aniston, accepted his proposal of marriage."

This is a first marriage for Theroux, whose screenwriting credits include "Iron Man 2" (2010) and cowriting "Tropic Thunder" (2008). He previously was in a 14-year relationship with stylist and movie costume designer Heidi Bivens, who has styled music videos for Kanye West, Beck and others, and commercials for such clients as Gillette, Diet Coke and MasterCard.

Aniston previously was married to film star Brad Pitt, whom she wed in a lavish Malibu ceremony on July 29, 2000. They announced their separation in January 2005, and their divorce became final in October of that year. She went on to date actor Vince Vaughn, her co-star in "The Break-Up" (2006), for over a year before announcing their split in December 2006. In 2008 and 2009, Aniston was widely seen with musician John Mayer, though neither they nor their representatives confirmed a relationship.

She and Theroux were first seen together publicly in May 2011, at what her representative described as a group dinner. The following month, their friend, fashion and advertising photographer Terry Richardson, shot images of them in New York being openly romantic.

Aniston and Theroux bought their four-bedroom, midcentury Bel Air home for a reported $22 million in January 2012.
