"I'm kind of excited for 'The Situation,' " said "Dancing With the Stars" alum Kelly Osbourne, sitting front row at Anna Sui, enthused about DWTS' new cast, including Mike "The Situation" Sorrentino of "Jersey Shore" fame (make that infamy).
She's also pulling for "Dirty Dancing" sweetie Jennifer Grey, whom she's talked to on the phone. "Jennifer is paired with last season's winner" (pro Derek Hough, who has won twice) "and given who her father is and the whole 'Dirty Dancing' thing, a lot of pressure is on her," said Osbourne, who knows a thing or two about larger-than-life dads. (Grey's dad just happens to be song-and-dance legend Joel Grey.)
But when you let loose at the clubs, Kelly, does all that dance practice help? "Noooo!" she says. "It's not like I'm gonna break out in a fox-trot or anything. . . . I just stick to the two-step, thank you very much."
WHEN THE DRESS FITS
At the Milly show, Natalie Morales of "Today" turned out in a sparkly little Milly dress. Though she seems one of those fancy gals on the fashion show circuit (we saw her earlier at Nanette Lepore, in a Nanette, of course), she is anything but a snob.
"Oh, I wear everything," she said. "From H&M, to Zara." How does she choose? "I like clothes women can relate to," but, she admits, practicality sometimes dictates. "I have to be able to sit on that sofa without doing this," she said, tugging her hem down and crossing her legs.
WAKE-UP CALL
Fashionistas who party the night away but need to rise bright and early for the shows might take a tip from up-and-coming recording artist Paula DeAnda, who caught some morning shows sponsored by - hello! - Starbucks Frappuccino at Style 360, the venue for newbie labels.
"I love the energy of these young designers," said the petite songstress, after seeing several, including Claudine DeSola's Caravan show. DeAnda's take on a French bulldog who walked the Caravan show? "Sooooo cuuuuute." He was the only model who couldn't carry his own Frappuccino bottle down the runway.
