July 4th celebrity birthdays
The United States of America turns 237 on July 4 -- and these five TV-related personalities will be blowing out candles as well:
1. MIKE 'THE SITUATION' SORRENTINO, 32 -- One can only wonder whether he's finally getting a little long in the tooth for "Jersey Shore"-style antics.
2. BECKI NEWTON, 35 -- She was the receptionist Amanda on "Ugly Betty," one of Barney's squeezes on "How I Met Your Mother" and had a starring role in the recent critically acclaimed but little-watched "Goodwin Games."
3. GERALDO RIVERA, 70 -- From being the long-haired kid on "Eyewitness News" to opening up Al Capone's vault and now stirring things up on Fox News, West Babylon High School's most famous grad has had quite a career.
4. NEIL SIMON, 86 -- Best known, of course, for his uproariously funny plays, Simon began his writing career as a member of the dream team on Sid Caesar's "Your Show of Shows."
5. EVA MARIE SAINT, 89 -- Likewise, she's best known for work beyond TV, notably in movies ("North by Northwest," an Oscar-winning turn in "On the Waterfront"). But she began her career by appearing on many Golden Age drama anthologies and in the '80s did a memorable turn on "Moonlighting" as Maddie's (Cybill Shepherd) mom.
