Kaley Cuoco of "The Big Bang Theory" has become engaged to professional tennis player Ryan Sweeting after three months of dating.

The actress' representative Thursday confirmed to Us Weekly that the proposal took place Wednesday, just days after the couple appeared together on the red carpet at Sunday night's Emmy Awards.

The day of the engagement, Cuoco, 27, tweeted, "Flying high, I could literally touch the sky with you. . . . "

On her Instagram page -- which she has jokingly titled "Norman Cook: Sometimes I'm Kaley. Sometimes I'm Norman. Depends on the day" -- Cuoco posted a photo of two penguins with the caption "I love you, Ryan Sweething."

Sweeting, 26 -- winner of the 2005 U.S. Open junior title, who went pro in 2007 and is currently ranked No. 532 by the Association of Tennis Professionals -- posted an Instagram photo of himself and a smiling Cuoco at the Emmys, captioned "A million people, all I see is her."

This will be the first marriage for both.

They were seen together publicly for the first time early last month, at a horse ranch in Moorpark, Calif., Us said.

In July, Cuoco had been romantically linked to "Man of Steel" star Henry Cavill.

She secretly dated her "Big Bang" co-star Johnny Galecki for nearly two years, she revealed in September 2010, long after they had broken up.

Late the following year her representative announced she was engaged to addiction counselor Josh "Lazie" Resnik, a former bassist for the heavy-metal band Danzig. By early 2012, however, the two had called off their engagement.
