Kate Gosselin: I was too hard on Jon

Kate Gosselin conceded on "Today" Wednesday morning that she was too hard on her ex-husband Jon during their marriage, while Jon himself took to Twitter in the early afternoon to defend Kate and himself against charges by her brother.

In part two of the two-day interview, Kate Gosselin expanded on a quote Meredith Vieira read from Gosselin's new book, "I Just Want You to Know," in which she wrote, "Much of what I said to Jon was unwarranted. I could have guarded my tongue better."

She told Vieira, "I learned that in the heat of the moment I have a sharp tongue. And looking back, there are probably a lot of people that I love that I probably spoke to inappropriately. Those are the people that are beside you to support you and love you. I've really learned to watch what I say."

One of those people, presumably, would be her brother, Kevin Kreider, who testified before state lawmakers Wednesday about Pennsylvania child labor laws as they relate to TV and film production. According to TMZ.com, Kreider and his wife, Jodi, testified the Gosselin children had no privacy during tapings of "Jon & Kate Plus 8," were manipulated by TLC producers for drama and suffered psychological damage because of the show.

Shortly afterward, Jon Gosselin tweeted, "Kate and I were doing what was best for our family. And it gave us an opportunity to spend quality family time together," adding, "The allegations made today by Kevin and Jodi Kreider have not been my experience at all during the production of 'Jon & Kate Plus 8.' "

Kate Gosselin in the "Today" interview also defended her appearance on "Dancing With the Stars" and to launch a new reality show this summer.

"I don't see another option - I have eight children to provide for."
