Kris Jenner, matriarch of the reality-show Kardashian clan, says she can't comment on reports that her soon-to-be ex-husband, Bruce Jenner, is dating her friend and former assistant Ronda Kamihira.

"I don't care who he goes out with, and I don't know who he's dating," Jenner, 58, said Monday on NBC's "Today." "He doesn't, like, check in with me and give me a play-by-play. But it's his life and you just want the guy to be happy. You know, he's still the father of two of my children" -- Kendall Jenner, 18, and Kylie Jenner, 17 -- "and so we're friends."

Kris Jenner and former Olympic champion Bruce Jenner, who turns 65 on Oct. 28, married in April 1991 and separated in June 2013, although they did not announce the breakup for four months. Kris Jenner formally filed for divorce in September. People magazine said Friday that Bruce Jenner and Kamihira were dating and attended an Elton John concert in Los Angeles on Oct. 4.

Kris Jenner also downplayed rumors that her amicably estranged husband was considering gender reassignment surgery. She told "Entertainment Tonight," "They've been saying that since 1976. That's not my experience with Bruce. He's a great guy. I love him. I don't know what he's going through right now, but I think he's just very happy and I think every time he makes a change in his life -- whether it's emotional or physical or, you know, whatever he's doing -- somebody's going to comment."

Meanwhile, Kris Jenner appears Wednesday at 7 p.m. at the Carle Place Barnes & Noble on 91 Old Country Rd., to sign copies of her new cookbook, "In the Kitchen with Kris." Wristbands for admission will be distributed starting at 9 a.m.
