Lindsay Lohan apologized on Wednesday after posting a tweet about a Kanye West concert she attended during Paris Fashion Week, in which she used a racial slur in a quote from West's new single, "All Day."
"She is a friend of his, it is his new song, her intention was not to offend anyone and she apologizes!" a representative for the actress told a newspaper in London, where Lohan lives.
Following surprised and dismayed comments from several of her 8.86 million Twitter followers, Lohan, 28, quickly removed the tweet and edited a corresponding Instagram post.
Tuesday's original tweet, a redacted version of which was posted at TMZ.com, refers to a much-repeated line in "All Day."
In remarkably similar circumstances, Oscar-winner Gwyneth Paltrow became the target of criticism after tweeting the same slur during a Paris concert by West and Jay Z in 2012. She, too, later said she was quoting a West song title, but did not apologize.
